Another thing i looked forward to about living away from home was the cooking. Come on.. after all which queen doesn't want to be a naked chef or a domestic goddess. Damn nigella and jamie.. why do they have to look so delicious. So yeah, off i went into the kitchen to cook up some fantastically delicious absolutely superb dish, with no prior experience. Hmm... perencah nasi goreng adabi calls for 3 cups of rice.. so 3 cups of beras it is. How was i supposed to noe that it actually meant 3 cups of cooked rice? i must've put in like 6 cups of cooked rice into the pan. So yeah.. not a good experience. The next attempt was the lemon chicken dish.. Armed with lee kum kee lemon sauce i followed the instructions of dusting the chicken with cornflour before frying.. too busy imagining myself as a tv cooking show host, i forgot to switch on the hood and the flour started burning.. setting off the smoke alarm.. like OMG.. if i was staying in an apartment with the emergency auto-call connected to the smoke alarms the fire brigade would've been axeing down my door already.. all for 5 measly pieces of lemon chicken.. but it tasted pretty okay. But boooooooy do i miss mommy's cooking now!
Nasi Goreng attempt numbah 2.. A lliiittllee bit better but not quite there
To call emergency fire assistance, just fry lemon chicken..

OMG your cooking mishaps was funny!! 3 cups of beras!! It's a common mistake I should think...I'd have done the exact same thing.
I'm not even going to start on my cooking disasters. Suffice it to say I'm not often asked to help out when it comes to parties.
